Deacon Gaffney and his wife were kind enough to give us a private and personal baptism this past Sunday at Blessed Sacrament in Saugus. It was so beautiful. By far, the most touching moment was when Deacon Gaffney told us how he had traveled to Jeruselem 25 years ago and had taken home water from the Jordan River. He still had some left after all this time and had put some in the water the Jack was baptized in. How incredibly amazing and special is that? We are so thankful to the pastor of the church and to Deacon Gaffney for opening their doors and hearts to Jack. it really was an amazingly special day.
Thank you Grandrea for all your help in making this very special day happen.
Jack wore the very same outfit his papa (my father) wore when he was baptized. How incredibly cool and precious is that? Thank you GG!
Ok here's the big update. Jeremy's phone rang around 9 and it was Children's. They wanted to schedule Jack's surgery. Have you ever felt a huge weight lifted and yet feel like you were being crushed at the same time? Is it possible to feel like you would breathe a giant sigh of relief if you could only catch your breath after a punch in the gut? All at once I am so relieved to finally have a date because with that date comes the fact that this will all be behind us soon and yet absolutely terrified.
Jack will have his surgery on May 21st. We will take him in early the day before and spend 6 to 8 hours for pre op stuff.. Then take him home for the night to hopefully get him some peaceful rest before the big day.
Please keep our Jack in your thoughts and prayers!! He is a tough guy, he is going to do great.. But thoughts and prayers are always welcome :)
